Purpose of Life

As you look at yourself and others, do you wonder who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going or does God have a purpose for me? For my family? For my friends? For everyone? And the answer to this is Yes! God does have a purpose plan for you and for everyone. He also has created the opportunity for your family, friends and all his children who live to know of this purpose of life and the way to triump in it. By revelations from God to his prophets, the scriptures have been written pointing clearly to all men the way of salvation through Jesus Christ, the son of God, the Savior of the world. The Savior has said "I am the way, the truth and the life." Come follow me, the finding of Christ's way and following it must surely be God's purpose for every man. To seek out the Savior's way is the first step, for yourself, only you can choose to follow the Lord, if follow you will, you and your family will be eternally blest by the right decision. God created you, read Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them." I can read nothing else but we are his children and in my heart, mind and soul I give testimony personally in knowledge of being his child. With this divine parentage, our destiny through righteous living, is to become like our Father in Heaven and be in his presence. But there is opposition in your life to tempt you to remain impure and encourage your failure of believing in Jesus Christ enough to follow him. You have a body of flesh and bone and though you may die, you have been promised an eternal resurrection. You also have an opportunity to live by faith away from the presence of God and to thereby prove yourself to be his child. God is fair, through your freedom to choose good or evil. He knows you will make mistakes but he expects you to accept and use the provided means placed within your reach. Everyday there is an endurance to what must be endured. Self-respect, faith. peace and understanding come with doing and enduring no matter how discouraged you may be. We must learn to live life with honor, courage, and faith with our Christ Jesus to follow his teachings. It is obedience to God through Christ that makes the good life and gives us the steps to climb in the kingdom. Our eternal Father, by his grace has made known the plan of salvation through his holy prophets, since the world began. By their inspired words and through the scriptures, all the essential laws and ordinances have been revealed, but God cannot accept the way for you, this choice you must make yourself. The first four principals and ordinances of the gospel are (1) Faith, read Hebrews 11:6 "Without faith it is impossible to please him, For he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (2) Repentance, read Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." (3) Baptism, read Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost." (4) Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, read Acts 8:17 "Then laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost." We develop and improve only as we use what the Lord God gave us. The glory of God is intelligence, whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto our life. It will rise with us in the resurrection. These lofty concepts of learning should inspire all to seek self improvement as long as we live. It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance. Life was not meant to be an unbroken series of blessings. Men are made strong through overcoming obstacles and by resisting. Shakespeare said it: "Sweet are the uses of adversity." And Paul sait it best of all: "Whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth." Jesus made the way very clear. Read Matthew 22: 36 to 40. "Master which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Jesus was a teacher come from God. Read John 3:1-2. There was a man, a ruler of the Jews. The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him Rabbi; we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Christ taught us how to live with others Read Matthew 5: 38 to 42. "Ye have heard that it hath been said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil. But whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also and if any man will sue thee at the law and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also and whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." Also read Matthew 7:12. "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them." I am sure many people will say living with others is giving. Christ taught us how to give. Read Matthew 6:1,3. "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them, otherwise ye have no reward, But when thou doest alms let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth." Christ taught us how to live with conflict. Read Matthew 5:43,44. "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, Bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you." Also read Matthew 5:23,24. "Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee, Leave there thy gift before the altar and go thy way, first to be reconciled to thy brother and then come and offer thy gift. Also read Matthew 6:14. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. Christ knew we would need to pray much to follow his path and he taught us how to pray. Read Matthew 6:5,6. "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets that they may be seen of men, but thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, pray to thy Father which is in secret. Death like birth, is part of eternal life. Sooner or later we all must face it. When death comes to those who have faith that they may live again with loved ones and friends. There is more satisfaction than sadness in the inevitable event. Life is eternal. The spirit of man never dies and the universal re-uniting of spirit and body is promised to all. "For in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive after that, to each of us will come the rewards and punishments earned on earth, with eternal progression and happiness the ultimate hope of all. There are rewards for keeping God's commandments. Read John 14:2,3. "In my father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you...that where I am, there ye may be also." Read 1 Corinthians 2:9. "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." Also read John 11:25. "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life. He that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live." Also read Matthew 6:33. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." There is immortality, there is accountability, there is Heaven and hereafter. There is a eternal Father who created you, placed you here that you may grow to your choosing and expects you to give an account for what you have done with your opportunities. This life is the time given to prepare to meet God. The plan God has for his children is an advancing and progressive one. The application of Christ's teaching in the lives of individuals will make "Bad men good and good men better." God asks only one goal of you. Read Matthew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." My brethren remember well Matthew 7:21. "Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." God wants his children to walk in truth, their life to be meaningful and not only consist of professions in spiritual matters, but also of present and everyday duties in which proper respect for self, love for fellowmen and devotion to God are guiding principles. God wants us to know truth in knowledge of things as they are, as they were and as they are to come. Remember the acquisition of knowledge and the wise application to it constitutes great parts of the purpose of life. ":Know the truth and the truth shall make you free.".
