State police in Oneida, New York are investigating an accidental death which occurred friday May 11 at approximately 9:17 p.m. police said preliminary investigation has revealed that 6-year-old Kayleigh C. Cochis of Lake Shore Road North in Verona Beach was attempting to retrieve a pair of scissors from the top of the refrigerator in her residence in order to remove gum, which has become stuck in her hair.

While attempting to grab the scissors, the child was standing on a roller office-style chair. She apparently lost her balance and fell from the chair. As she fell, the scissors punctured her neck. Cochis was assisted at the scene by members of the Sylvan Beach Fire Department and was transported to the Oneida Health Care Center by Vineall Ambulance. She was pronounced dead at the Oneida Health Care Center at 10:38 p.m.

At the time of the acccident, Cochis's parents' Christopher and Christine Cochis and her 5-year-old brother were in the residence; however, no one witnessed the fall.

Preliminary investigation has revealed no indication of criminal liability.

The investigation continues. I hope that this can get you to think that no one's life is assured, being a child her sins was never recorded. She received a welcome into the arms of our lord God. But what happens when you or I die. Being of the age of knowing right from wrong our actions is being recorded. We will have to go through Judgement. Our only hope to be received into the arms of our Lord and God the way that this little girl was is to be born again. After sin has stained our life we have to receive forgiveness or the sin anchors into our soul. Keeping us from really believeing in God, keeping us from receiveing the newness of his holy Spirit that he wants to become part of our life, that he may lead and guilde us.
