The Prophet or the called Preacher

The nature of the prophetic calling is to bare testimony of Christ. A prophet is one who has the supreme knowledge, engraven in his soul by revelation of Jesus is-by definition the spirit of prophesy. When a man gains personal revelation as to the divinity, mission and works of Christ he has attained the testimony of Jesus, and it is the possession of this gift which constitutes him a prophet. Hence, Peter was able to say concerning Christ, to him give all the prophets witness And if they did not they would not be prophets. For witnessing of Christ is the very thing which grants them fellowship in that select assemblage. Accordingly all of the prophets from Adam to Christ bore record that Christ, the promised Messiah should come. All of the prophets from the day of his coming to the present moment have borne record by revelation that he did come. That the atonement which he wrought is an accomplished fact, and that by adherence to the laws and ordinances of his gospel, salvation may be gained now as it was gained by the faithful saints of old. We could give the Lords evidence from the revelations he has given. We could show the coordinate testimony of all the prophets, ancient and modern to bare the same witness of his divinity. In my heart the record is clear and I bare testimony. Salvation is in Christ. He is the firstborn Spirit of God the eternal Father. He is the creator of all things from the beginning. Since the fall of Adam he has stood between us and the Father as one mediator, one advocate, one intercessor. He is the Lord, the Great I Am, and the promised Messiah.
