When should one be Baptized?

The Bible is with many examples of men being baptized immediately after conversion, we have no record of anyone waiting five, ten or twenty years or even thirty days as far as that goes. It was a now experience with the first followers of Christ. The penitent souls at Pentecost asked "Men and brethren what shall we do?" Peter answered "Repent and be ye baptized, everyone of you." Then they that gladly received his word were baptized. In John's first epistle: chapter 5, verse 3 we read to understand that, loving God means doing what he tells us to do and really, that isn't hard at all. Our Lord chided some people with this question "Why do you call me Lord, Lord and not do what I tell you." Baptism is an identification with Christ. The recipients of baptism are greatly blest because they are obeying the command of Christ. If you are a candidate for Christian baptism, do it now. When we love someone we are eager to please him and the sooner the better. Isn't it rather strange that one would make high claims of loving God and yet be so casual about baptism, sometimes putting the thought of baptism out of his mind for months or years; what kind of love is this? The Bible does command "Repent and be ye baptized " As we receive the Holy Spirit, we must ever remember that water baptism is commanded by Christ Jesus who is head of the church. If Christ says to do a thing, happy are we if we do it.
